Sample Itinerary – Island Getaway 3 days
MOTORBOAT SHUTTLE WITH SIT-ON-TOP KAYAKS OR SUPS OR SEA KAYAKS

All itineraries are subject to weather, Port closures, and other factors intrinsic to “Adventure” tourism.

Day 0. Meet in Loreto for a pre-trip briefing and to fit your equipment.

Day 1. After breakfast, our truck will come by your hotel to pick up personal gear. Walk the short distance to Loreto’s waterfront to hop in the motorboat (panga) which will be already loaded with kayaks and gear. Motor out to Coronados, Danzante or Carmen Island. Proceed with an introduction to paddling if you’d like. Enjoy lunch on the beach then go exploring! Slip into the water for a peek at all the life and colors below the surface. Dry off in the sun, set up your tent, and savor a well-deserved and delicious camp dinner. Lie back under a brilliant night sky!

Day 2. Wake up on a beach. Oooh yeah! Welcome to a full day to make yours on the island. Sip fresh-brewed hot coffee from the comfort of your beach chair as the aroma of hot-cooked breakfast wakes up your appetite. After breakfast, paddle with your knowledgeable guide along the island’s shoreline. Pause to explore special places and watch pelicans dive or dolphins frolic. Enjoy a fresh lunch and a rest in the shade. Take the afternoon sun as an invitation to snorkel and see the explosion of color and life just under the surface.

Day 3. Life is good! Head out for a short sunrise paddle if you’re feeling ambitious, or let the world wake up from the coziness of your sleeping bag. After breakfast head out for more paddling or snorkeling or a walk along the beach before being met by the panga with one of our delicious signature lunches and a cold beverage. Return to Loreto.

Weather

Your safety is our top priority, and we comply with the local Port Captain who dictates when we can move about on the water.

Loreto offers a delightful escape from cold or wet northern winters. The peak kayak-camping season falls between October and early May. Temperatures can vary widely between day and night in the desert, and Loreto is no exception. Average highs are 70-80s (mid to high 20sC) and lows in the 50s (teens C).

October and late April are quite warm and settled. December through February have the greatest potential for Baja’s famous Norte winds which can last a few days. November and March are transitional. Summers are hot and humid, which makes them grand for in-water activities but a bit toasty for beach camping.
